New Blog Header

I played around a little this afternoon to see what I could come up with for a new blog header. What do you all think?

I thought we could change the header up regularly so we don't get bored.

Nita - Good Morning

Good Morning! This was the car park bright and early (well maybe not quite that bright) last Wednesday morning as I went to catch the train to swim first thing with Mandy.

Not the challenge for me huh?

So to summarise:

Wanted to play with Nita's collage from last week cose I liked it:

Top left around clockwise: Walk in hills near Mundaring early one morning, picking up Nita for our early morning swim at Leederville train station, sun coming up in my backyard, another one from the hills walk, Indonesian box with sun painted, watering my garden first thing, coffee at the beach after a walk & before a swim, sun coming through my living room window, kettle, Meg's lead waiting for early morning walk - middle: journal & coffee for breakfast.

Photochains

Am watching some old TV and saw an ad from Canon re photochains. What do you guys think of the idea of starting something like this once we have all the people together who want to play. Basically the first person takes a photo of anything they like and then pass to the next person who uses something in that photo as inspiration for one of their own and so forth and so on round and round and round.

Nita - Blue Weekend

Mandy challenged us to a "Blue" weekend challenge last week as seen on the Digital Photography School challenge found here... http://digital-photography-school.com/blue-weekend-photography-challenge

I liked the window-pane style collage format the sample photos took so recreated that today to put my photos together.


Starting with the middle photo and then working clock-wise from top left around the smaller photos my photos are of: Jo's sarong fabric, puzzle I have been working on the past 3 years, Jag's pool, network cable against floor tiles, blue sky with sun rays, light above puzzle table, Gary's blue shorts, blue Jag, Mum's blue check shirt, Mum's blue eye, blue tiles in upstairs bathroom, blue Meggie.

Nita - Trees and Heat

Mandy and I had two key photography themes on our trip to Balingup in mid December - Trees and Heat. Considering we were going to be bushwalking through some beautiful trees on a VERY hot day I don't think there was any shortage of inspiration!

This hot dry field was one of the sights on the longest, hottest stretch of our hike.

Almost home and these 'burning' grasses served as a reminder of how hot the day had been.

Backyard Birch. This beautiful tree was in the backyard of our cottage. Look forward to seeing it again in autumn.

Burned out bush tree. We saw quite a few of these on our hike.

Had to photomerge two photos together to depict the height of this tree Mandy is standing at the base of. Is it a Jarrah or Marri tree?

I think this was a silver-leafed poplar tree. The shining velvety silver on the underside of the leaves caught the sunlight on our drive back to Balingup from Bridgetown (via Nannup).

STOP!!! How many stops did we make along the road back to Balingup to take a photo or two? This huge pine tree was unfortunately dead, but interesting to photograph against the blue sky.
