Nita - Assignment 11

Have fallen a bit behind with our photography lessons. Supposed to be posting portrait photos but I haven't read or started to practice those yet. Here are the photos for the "Nature" lesson that I took a week and a half ago up in King's Park.

We found this Ashby's Banksia plant really interesting how all on the one plant it seemed to have flowers in all different stages. So below is my photo series of those stages.....

Assignment 11 - "Nature"

It's wildflower season & the wildflower festival at Kings Park. I ran out of batteries - but love some of the results - I just couldn't pick - so there's too many here & more on my other blog probably:

Assignment 10 finally

Got two for the price of one at Kings Park this afternoon. So first up some 'travel' photos:

A big part of Australian mythology & self-image revolves around the Anzacs - so the war memorial fronting part of the city skyline seemed fitting.

A native wisteria (no housewives in sight) with the Swan River, Old Swan Brewery & city in the background.

The cocky fence, the everlastings & the gum trees - yup you're in WA mate!

New challenges for down the track...

Once we're done with lessons & Nita has completed 365days, I found some ideas (forgotten whose blog) for some other challenges:

A-Z - photograph a different letter of the alphabet each day. Could be something starting with the letter [Dog] or something representative [still water for Quiet] or something that looks like the actual letter

Organised photowalks - good excuse to be a tourist where you live

Mono month - convert/take all photos in black & white

Scavenger hunt - one person comes up with list for others [a bridge, a red rose, a mother & child etc]

A collection of photos representing something picked by one person [colour, shape, object etc]

Means we may have to talk a few more people into joining us to make challenges like the scavenger hunt fun...

Nita - Assignment 10

Travel/Vacation photos without going anywhere??? Still in lesson 6 this week we were supposed to take travel photos. Without going too far I liked the idea of taking photos like a tourist might. So heading up to Kings Park on Friday for lunch I took a few photos in between the rain showers.

This is one of the classic views of Perth taken from Kings Park. Just a little bit of blue sky showed itself before we had to drive back to the office.

The Boab trees are such interesting trees. This is one of the smaller ones.

The wild flowers are looking lovely! Can't wait to spend hours amongst them.

And finally another photo of the coastline behind our house. It was pretty windy on Friday when I took this photo. A tourist who doesn't visit the coast when visiting Perth hasn't planned to spend enough time here :0)

Nope I really didn't get round to 'travel photo'

Yup you've seen this before - this is my modified Baysie photo - promise I'll do the assignment properly during the week...

Landscapes

I didn't really go anywhere where I could take good photos to stitch together in photoshop like Nita did. This one is from the bird sanctuary down the road, but it isn't majorly different from one shot even though I asked it to merge 4. Anyhooo a few more of the bird sanctuary & then took Meg to the beach. Technically a landscape...
